Handmade accordion book with ribbon binding, 3” x 4.5”, 2023

This hand-crafted book reimagines a story I first heard as a child, rewritten into a rhyming epic poem.

I created the paper, illustrated the narrative in Procreate, laser-cut the pages into shape, and hand-painted the covers.

Bound with ribbon in an accordion structure, the book can be read page by page like a traditional story or unfolded in full to reveal a continuous visual symphony. The colors of the handmade paper follow the rhythm of the tale, shifting in tone as the story moves forward, making the unfolded piece as much an ornamental artwork as a book to be read.
